In the spring and summer heat of Chicago, air conditioning is a welcome
and necessary home accessory. Of course, however, constantly running your air
conditioning is an easy way to have your electric bills go through the roof.
The good news, though, is that there are things you can do to reduce cooling
costs without having to give up your precious air conditioning. It might sound
crazy, but one thing you can do is to make the switch to energy efficient light
bulbs. Because these bulbs produce a lot less heat than a standard light bulb,
your home won’t be as hot and you won’t have to run the air conditioner as
much.
Having regular maintenance performed on your Chicago air conditioning unit is also a
smart idea. Common maintenance tasks can enable your air conditioner to perform
better and can get rid of costly problems, like leaks before they have a chance
to cost you the big bucks.
